Can’t afford a holiday this year? Need a change of scenery? Never mind! Why not travel the world without so much as leaving town. The city has never been so multi-cultural and you can discover so many of these cultures first hand - the smells, the atmosphere, the tastes. A different country every day of the week on your doorstep.
You may think that your local shops have been destroyed by the rise of the supermarket, your local butcher and greengrocer may have gone but chance is that you have such a diverse array of shops, many within walking distance, that you need not even go to a supermarket again and still save money.

I like exploring local ethnic shops and supermarkets like the ones in every urban high street, especially the ones you probably never even dared enter. I like to discover new ingredients and try new recipes. So far I have discovered India in Southall, Thailand in Shepherds Bush, China in Mitcham, The Lebanon in Marylebone, Bangladesh in Brick Lane, Korea in New Malden, Portugal in Kensal Rise and Japan in Wembley and that is just the start! Where shall we go today?
